Events

School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.

Book Week.

Book Week is a highly anticipated event at our school that celebrates the joy and importance of reading. It is a dedicated time when students, teachers, and the wider school community come together to promote literacy and the love of books. Throughout the week, students participate in a range of engaging activities designed to spark their imagination, develop their reading skills, and deepen their appreciation for storytelling. One of the main highlights of Book Week is the exciting dress-up parade, where students bring their favourite book characters to life by dressing up in creative costumes. This event encourages students to explore different stories and authors, fostering a sense of fun and camaraderie as they share their literary favourites with peers.

NAIDOC Week.

NAIDOC Week is a special time to celebrate the rich culture, history, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. During this week, our students engage enthusiastically in a variety of Aboriginal activities that deepen their connection to Indigenous heritage. They enjoy hands-on experiences like shelter building, playing traditional games, and making delicious Johnny cakes. These activities not only provide fun and learning but also foster respect and appreciation for Aboriginal traditions and stories.

Harmony Day.

Harmony Day is a special occasion at our school where we celebrate diversity, inclusion, and the unique cultures that make up our community. It’s a time to promote respect and understanding among all students. During Harmony Day, we engage in fun and meaningful craft activities that explore different cultural traditions and symbols. Students also enjoy decorating cookies, adding a creative and delicious element to the day’s celebrations. These activities help foster a sense of belonging and remind us all of the strength found in our diversity.
